5 Dates to Host For Your Best Friends

February is a month of celebrating love and the women in your life deserve your attention too. This post shares five dates you need to host for your best friends!
Us ladies are meant to socialize and engage with other females. Legend has it that back in the day (think wayyy back, like biblical times), women gathered in menstrual huts called "Red Tents". It was a place where women could honor their bodies, bond with other women, and teach their daughters the glory of being a woman. This notion was published in a book by Anita Diamant called, "The Red Tent".
You may notice that your period syncs up with your best friends and/or women in your office. It's fascinating how the female body is so in tune with those around you.
Here are five ideas to celebrate the women in your life:
1. KOMBUCHA TASTING PARTY!

Who doesn't love trying new flavors of kombucha?! This fizzy probiotic drink provides good bacteria to your belly and helps you create happy hormones.
Invite your girls over for some taste testing! Grab your champagne glasses and have each friend bring two of their favorite flavors.
You can make Balanced Bombshells approved treats, turn on your favorite tunes, and have a dance party right in your living room 💃🥂
2. TRY A NEW FITNESS CLASS!

It's always easier, and way more fun, to try out a new workout when you have your best friends by your side.
Especially if you're in your follicular or ovulation phases!
Been wanting to try zumba or a new spin studio? Book a class now.
What about a bootcamp (Barry's Bootcamp is AH-mazing!) or an aerial yoga class? Make a day or night out of it by heading to eat afterwards. You can rehash how much fun you had and replenish your body with protein packed foods to build those lean, sexy muscles.
3. TAKE A SUNSHINE STROLL
If you follow us on Instagram or are a member of the Balanced Bombshells Lifestyle Plan, you know we're all about a good sunshine stroll.
Walking - especially in nature - lowers stress hormones and improves our mood. It also aids healthy weight management, boosts feel-good hormones, and increases brain function.
Get a dose of your vitamin D and invite your friends out for a hike! You'll unplug and enjoy the gift of nature, all while getting caught up on each other's lives.
Pack your favorite healthy snack and share when you stop for a break to take in the view 😍
4. COOK OFF & RECIPE SWAP
Every woman is always looking for new recipes. Invite your girls over for a fun cook off and recipe swap!
You can test out new food combos and each friend will go home with a collection of recipes to try.
Have each guest make her favorite dish and print out enough recipes for everyone. Then you can make a fun game out of it by having a questionnaire that each girl fills out anonymously. Place each card in a box and at the end of dinner, award the person with the most likes a bottle of champagne!
5. SMOOTHIE & SUPERFOOD LATTE DATE

In my humble opinion, women drink too much caffeine. It's something we've all relied on to "get through" and we think we won't have energy without it (you will!).
My main hesitation with too much caffeine (I don't always eliminate it completely) is that is shocks your reproductive and nervous system, and throws off your reproductive hormones, leading to PMS and other hormonal issues. I avoid it right before and during my menstrual week.
It also sparks our adrenal glands, releasing adrenaline and cortisol, leading us to feel more stressed out than we actually are. If I opt for caffeine, I choose matcha tea over coffee. It has a calming effect on the body and isn't acidic.
The rise of cortisol also impacts the relationship to estrogen and progesterone, which leads to many period problems like PMS, irritability, anxiety, and increased inflammation.
Take a caffeine breather and have a Sunday superfood latte and smoothie bowl date!
You can make one of the superfood lattes from the Recipe Guide in the Balanced Bombshells Lifestyle Plan, or this Chocolate Strawberry Smoothie Bowl for everyone. Your girls will thank you for keeping their hormones balanced.
Which girl date are you going to plan? If you're looking for a great conversation starter, talk to them about cycle syncing!
I like to multi-task, so I plan on inviting friends out for a Sunday hike, then heading to my place for smoothie bowls and cacao superfood lattes. Alright... there may be some kombucha testing too 🥂💖
